Welcome to Haiku North America
Haiku North America (HNA) is a biennial conference in celebration of haiku poetry. Every two years we offer five stimulating days of papers, panels, workshops, readings, performances, book sales, cultural outings, and much socialization with fellow poets, translators, scholars, editors, and publishers. Our first conference took place in 1991 in California and we've held subsequent conferences throughout the United States and Canada, focusing on North American poets, their haiku, and related arts. Everyone is welcome to attend HNA, the largest and oldest regular gathering of haiku poets outside Japan. Read HNA updates on the HNA blog and explore this site for more information. See you at our next conference!

Haiku North America is pleased to announce that its next conference will take place September 24 to 28, 2025 in downtown San Francisco. Our conference theme is “Discover.” We’ll be meeting and staying at the Holiday Inn, on the west end of one of the city’s famed cable car lines. This facility offers dramatic city and bay views, and convenient access to a variety of tourist attractions, restaurants, and other amenities. September also offers San Francisco’s best weather of the year, with warm temperatures without the summer fog. Please join us!
Please watch for more announcements soon. |
