The official conference hotel for HNA 2009 is the Crowne Plaza Ottawa, 101 Lyon Street North Ottawa, ON K1R 5T9, Canada: ((888) 444-0401. The Crowne Plaza is within easy walking distance (2 blocks) from the conference location, the National Library and Archives on Wellington Street.
For those who would like an alternative to the conference hotel, consider the University of Ottawa Residence Halls. Be aware that the residence halls are 7 blocks from the conference location, which is a cab ride for most people.
Whichever you choose, register quickly to ensure your accommodation during Ottawa's peak tourist season when hotels will be crowded and the city jumping!
The HNA conference rate is $109.00 CDN. (The regular rates at the Crowne Plaza are between $159.00 and $189.00 CDN.)
When you register with the Crowne Plaza Ottawa, tell them that you will be attending the Haiku North America 2009 conference and give them the code word: HNA.
HNA group rates are valid for booking from 07-Oct-2008 through 05-Jul-2009. Please make your hotel reservations early!

The University of Ottawa residence halls are within walking distance of the National Library and Archives where the HNA conference will be held. "Please note that the residences open for the summer period beginning May 6th, 2009. This summer, the University of Ottawa Residences will be renting out two types of rooms: singles and doubles in Stanton (conventional residence) and two-bedroom suites in our new residence (suites). You will find rates as well as description of the rooms below.
Our suites include two private bedrooms with a double bed in each, a private bathroom, and a kitchen area. Each bedroom has a double bed, desk and chair, cable television, and telephone with free local calls. The small kitchen includes a refrigerator, a microwave, and a table for two. Dishes are not provided. These air-conditioned rooms are $95 per night for single or double occupancy. A $10 charge applies for each additional guest, to a maximum of 4 adults per suite. We also have a family rate of $90 (two adults and two children under 12), and a $500 weekly rate. The Canada Day (June 30th and July 1st) and the Ottawa Marathon weekend (May 22nd and 23rd) rate is $135. All these rates are subject to a 10% tax.
The rooms in our conventional residences are either single or double bedrooms (one or two twin beds). They include a telephone with free local calls, a desk and chair, and a dresser. Separate male and female washroom facilities are shared on each floor. There is no air-conditioning. The single rooms are $42 per night for adults and $30 per night for students with valid student ID. The weekly rate for singles is $162.50. The double rooms are $63 for adults and $50 for students. The weekly rate for single occupancy of a double room is $196, and for double occupancy, $262.50. We do not take care of assigning roommates. Again, all these rates are subject to a 10% tax.
Parking is available for $11 per day; you must request a permit upon check-in. Check-in time is 4:00pm, and check-out time is 10:30am.
To book a room, please send us the following information: your name, your address, your phone number, the number of nights you will be staying, your arrival and departure dates, the number of people who will be staying in the room, which kind of room you want, and a credit card number (Visa or Mastercard) with the expiry date to guarantee your room. There will be no charges processed on the card before your arrival, and you will need to present the card or another method of payment upon check-in. We have a 48-hour cancellation policy; if you cancel with less than 48-hours notice, one night will be charged to your credit card.
